Hiking and Camping Checklists Are A Good Thing To Have

January 15, 2024 - Hiking and Camping checklists make it easier to go shopping for things that you need to take along with you on your outdoor adventure and can be used to make sure you don't forget some of those items when you are packing to leave.

Even if you are an experienced hiker or camper you will likely forget to take some things along if you don't review your checklist before leaving.

I have a neighbor who loves to hike and camp out with a few of his friends, but even he told me that the last time they went hiking he forgot to check the weather where they were going and did not take but one blanket with him and was miserably cold at night.

If you are hiking up a mountain then the temperature at the top, or near the top, will not be the same as it is at the bottom of the mountain, so take that into consideration also when packing for your trip. Will you need a good cold weather blanket to keep you warm at night.

Mentally picture yourself on your trip and think about what you will be doing each day. Picture what clothes you will have on, what shoes you will need, what you will be eating, will you need bug spray, etc. This will help you come up with a good checklist of items.
