Favored Small Portable Generators for Construction Work Sites, Power Tools, Home Outage

August 2, 2023 - Many people in the building trade have to rely on portable power in order to run their power tools on the job site. You may also live in a rural area, have a lot of land, but not utility power to all your buildings. You may need to use your power tools in the barn or maybe while putting up a fence around the pasture.

You will need to calculate the size generator that will fit your needs. You could just oversize your generator but it costs more, will consume more fuel and is harder to haul around where you need to go.

If you undersize your generator, the generator will strain to meet demand and both it and your tools will work harder and wear out more quickly.

Start with determing what tools you need to power from the generator and how much power they require. I know a person who goes to people's homes to do lawnmower repair and he has a small Honda EU2000i that he carries around with him and it handles all his needs. It is lightweight, doesn't take up a lot of room in his truck and doesn't make a lot of noise.

If you are using tools like circular saws, miter saws or portable concrete mixers you are going to need a more heavy duty portable generator than the Honda EU2000i. So, check out some of the top rated portable generators shown here.

Portable Generators for Work / Power Tools Reviews

If you are like the lawnmower repair guy mentioned above or you just need power for a few small tools then then you can probably do with one of the recommended generators shown on our small portable quiet generators for RV, Camping page.

If you have more heavy duty equipment to power then check out one of the favored portable generators shown below.
